I don’t read a lot of debut authors. I like to stick to authors I already know. But looking at this list of authors I read for the first time this year makes me realize that I’m probably missing out on some great stories and that I should read more new-to-me authors than I currently do. I read these ten authors for very different reasons. I preordered Kari Luna’s book just because of the pandas. It could have been about anything. When I saw that cover I knew I had to get it and I’m grateful I did. I was thinking about reading Anna and the French Kiss for a looong time. Everyone seems to love it but I usually don’t read books like this. And know I’m happy that I picked it up and want to read Lola soon. I read Nova Ren Suma for the first time when Imaginary Girls was chosen as our GR group read. I only bought The Bone Season because I met the author (purely by chance). Some of these books were recommandet to me, others made me want them because of their pretty cover. A lot of different reasons and circumstance why I read these books and in the end I loved every one of them and can’t wait to read more by these authors.

+ Nova Ren Suma ► Imaginary Girls | Dani Noir | 17 & Gone
+ Stephanie Perkins ► Anna and the French Kiss

I am definitely with you on Stephanie Perkins and Veronica Schwab. So great suprises and definitely Authors I’ll keep my eyes on throughout the next year. I just loved “The Archived” for its unique idea. REALLY can’t wait for “The Unbound” (that coveeeer!! *:*).
I am also really curious about “Tell the Wolves I’m home”. Hear all those emotional opinions about it.

I still need to read Anna and the French Kiss! I had never even heard of it before I started blogging, but I feel like everyone has read it, and everyone absolutely loved it. I’ve been eyeing a bunch of these books all year but never made it to them, so if you liked them this much, clearly I need to bump them to the top of my TBR!
Anna
Samantha Shannon was a fave of mine this year, too. Totally into the world she created in The Bone Season!

Loved S.J.’s book! I actually met her when Insignia was released. Really enjoyed it! And I adored Anna and the French Kiss!
