Top Ten Authors I’ve Only Read One Book From But NEED to Read More

(TTT is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish)

When I looked through my list of books I was SHOCKED how many authors there are that I could include in today’s TTT post. There are a few who only have one book out yet and I’m impatiently waiting for their next one to come out (why can’t all authors write as fast as Sanderson and Armstrong???). Then there are others I only discovered this year and I didn’t have time yet to read another one of their books. And then there is the rest… the WTH-is-wrong-with-me why-haven’t-I-read-their-other-books-yet kind of authors!

  • Ernest Cline
Ready Player One is one of my top favorite books and I’m dying to read Armada! Drives me mad that we have to wait until summer 2015!
  • Scott Lynch
I’ve only read the first book in his series (which I LOOOVED). That was 2 month ago and then I was super busy and didn’t have time to continue reading the series. I will definitely read the other 2 books soon though!
  • Markus Zusak
He is one of those authors where I can’t really explain why I haven’t read any other book by him yet. I LOVE The Book Thief, I’ve read it more than once, but “I am the Messenger” is still waiting on my wishlist.

  • Ruta Sepetys
    1. I’m afraid of reading another book by her because I don’t want to get disappointed. 2. I wasn’t in the mood for another historical fiction book with all the feels. (I already own Between Shades of Gray though. Just need to read it!)
  • Daniel Price
He is the best when it comes to parallel/alternate worlds and I need the second book in the Silvers series RIGHT NOW!
  • Neal Shusterman
I LOVED Unwind! Why haven’t I read the other books in the series yet? I don’t know…. But once the last one is out I’m going to binge-read the whole series!
  • Joe Abercrombie
I read his newest book (alf a King) a little while ago and now I want to read every single book he has written!

  • Kari Luna
With The Theory of Everything she wrote one of my favorites of 2013 and now I’m eagerly waiting for her next book! #PANDALOVE
  • Pierce Brown
Red Rising was SO GOOD I’m dying to read his next book in the series. Can it be January now please!?
  • Carol Rifka Brunt
Tell The Wolves I’m Home AKA The Book That Drowned me in Feels last year! I desperately need a new book by her!

Have you read any of those authors? What book should I read next?
Which authors have you only read 1 book from but need to read more?

  • I think I’m afraid to read more Markus Zusak, because I have such a love for The book thief. I’m afraid his other work isn’t good enough in comparison.. but I’m certainly interested in I am the messenger.

    • Me too! When loving books as much as I love The Book Thief, other books always tend to disappoint.

  • Ooo, I forgot to add Markus Zusak to my list. I plan on reading more of his books, he’s just not one of those authors I automatically think about.

    Great list!

    • I think I would have forgotten him too if I didn’t have a list on hand with authors + number of books I have :D
Sometimes I forget that he has any other book than The Book Thief.

  • Amazing list! Ernest Cline & Joe Abercrombie are on my TTT, too! Also, you must read I Am the Messenger – it’s one of my most fav books & I reread it every year (only once because I have a “rule” to read one book only once a year, or I’ll be stuck reading the same books again & again), so you must read it!
And I still need to catch up on the Unwind series, too. I’m actually planning on going on an Unwind binge, too, with rereading the 1st one, since it’s been years since I read it. He;s not on my list because I raed 7 loved his Skinjacker trilogy, too.
I’ll definitely have to check out the rest on your list, even though some of them are already part of my TBR pile.

    • Haha, I like that you need a rule like that! I always need to remind myself to reread books from time to time >.<

  • I also own Between Shades of Gray and have yet to read it! I haven’t heard much about it, but I’ve wanted to read it for so long :p

    • I heard a few good things but not a lot :D If it’s even half as good as Out of the Easy then I’m gonna love it!

  • I AM THE MESSENGER! That is my favorite Zusak book. I mean, I loved The Book Thief, but I Am the Messenger is so much better. The narrator is really snarky, there’s a great dog, and a strange premise, and a cast of really awesome characters. Also prose is FANTASTIC.

  • Ha!
