Stranger Things happened in May. Even though there have been extreme highs and lows re general life, I seriously don’t know what happened reading-wise that month. I only reread a single book (at least a Schwab book, so that’s still going) and only listened to two audiobooks. And while 11 books overall aren’t bad, my average page count is 268 pages, so yeah…. At least my book buying / accumulating went GREAT. A book a day keeps the doctor away, they say, right?
I’m not going to complain about what I’ve read because they were all great books (even that 3* Ness one which just wasn’t for me but is an amazing book). It’s kind of shocking though that I didn’t finish a single print book, only ebooks and audiobooks. I really need to up my game again in June, especially regarding my rereads (reread count dropped below 50% #SADFACE).
Caliban’s War (The Expanse #2) Mapping the Interior River of Teeth (River of Teeth #1) The Ghost Line Borderline (The Arcadia Project #1)
The Book of Phoenix (Who Fears Death #0) In the Labyrinth of Drakes (The Memoirs of Lady Trent #4) Leviathan Wakes (The Expanse #1)
All Systems Red (The Murderbot Diaries #1) Release Vicious (Vicious #1)
So I might have gone a little overboard in May BUT BUT BUT… whatever. I’m on a scifi / spaceopera high and books make me happy and I didn’t even spend that much money.
Cold Welcome (Vatta’s Peace #1) Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2) Hold Back the Stars* The Lazarus War: Artefact (The Lazarus War #1) Lightning in the Blood (Ree Varekai #2) Nemesis Games (The Expanse #5) Arabella of Mars (Adventures of Arabella Ashby #1) Ancillary Mercy (Imperial Radch #3) Ancillary Sword (The Imperial Radch #2) Abaddon’s Gate (The Expanse #3) Cibola Burn (The Expanse #4) This Savage Song* (Monsters of Verity #1) The Ghost Line River of Teeth (River of Teeth #1) Mapping the Interior The Jewel and Her Lapidary Sea of Rust The Martian* The New Voices of FantasyThe Hunter’s Kind (The Hollow Gods #2) Ghost Talkers Proof of Concept Last Call at the Nightshade Lounge Borderline* (The Arcadia Project #1) Moving Target Smuggler’s Run The Weapon of a Jedi Shattered Minds All Systems Red (The Murderbot Diaries #1) The Dragon’s Legacy (The Dragon’s Legacy #1)

May was a month of season finales and crime shows, so feels galore. I’m kinda glad to have a break now so I can finally rewatch some shows I have been meaning to watch again, priority being Yuri on Ice.
Agents of Shield – Loved all of S3 so much, especially the last few episodes
Sense8 – THE BEST AND THOSE ASSHOLES CANCELED IT
The Flash – IMFINEIMFINEFIMEFINE (WHAT. THE. HELL. *cries*)
The Fall – we have a winner for “actor who is the perfect creep”
Criminal Minds – Someone please stop me from watching S13. This mess needs to stop
Happy Valley – Happy my ass (really good though!)
The Killing – really digging this one for its actors
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – I have mixed feelings. Fun but also meh in some departments (full points for tiny Groot though <3)
I guess I made up for not reading much by listening to a shit ton of music because my playlist is HUGE as in 50+ songs and woah! that’s never happened before. I guess the one really good thing coming out of 2017 is that artists put it all into their music and bring out all them songs.
/p>
How was May for you? Read any good books?
Annemieke
Those are a lot of books but sometimes that is just what we need/deserve so whatever, right?
Maraia
I want to hear about your highs, too!
I’ve only reread FOURTEEN BOOKS THIS YEAR WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?! And none since March. But I’m definitely rereading TSS in June.
Do you think I should read Release? I’m excited that you rated the second book in The Expanse even higher, because I’m already enjoying the first one!
Which editions of TSS and The Martian did you get?
LOL to Happy Valley. :P
I really liked Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2! Mostly because Baby Groot is the actual best.
