SO MANY REASONS. I first heard about the book when the cover was released and instantly fell in love with the idea of this book and knew this is a must-have for me.

• It’s magical realism! I LOVE magical realism.
• Diversity! Not only does it feature multicultural elements but it’s also about a transgender boy
• The summary sounds so weird and I love it.
• The cover is adorable

I read the synopsis of When the Moon Was Ours once and went to look up if it’s available for pre-order right away. It sounds like the perfect book for me and can’t wait to read it.
