Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases.
When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore:
To everyone who knows them, best friends Miel and Sam are as strange as they are inseparable. Roses grow out of Miel’s wrist, and rumors say that she spilled out of a water tower when she was five. Sam is known for the moons he paints and hangs in the trees, and for how little anyone knows about his life before he and his mother moved to town.
But as odd as everyone considers Miel and Sam, even they stay away from the Bonner girls, four beautiful sisters rumored to be witches. Now they want the roses that grow from Miel’s skin, convinced that their scent can make anyone fall in love. And they’re willing to use every secret Miel has fought to protect to make sure she gives them up.
SO MANY REASONS. I first heard about the book when the cover was released and instantly fell in love with the idea of this book and knew this is a must-have for me.
I read the synopsis of When the Moon Was Ours once and went to look up if it’s available for pre-order right away. It sounds like the perfect book for me and can’t wait to read it.

AND THAT COVER IS RIDICULOUSLY GORGEOUS. (yes yes I’m a shallow bookworm and not even sorry by this point.?) *dashes for goodreads*

Saaaaaame. It turned up on Netgalley a while ago and I tried to get an ARC, but no such luck. So some more waiting until October … can’t even pre-order it since I don’t know my address for that time yet.

I am reading this one right now and it is so beautiful. The main character is Pakistani and transgender and I just love that. The writing is beautiful. You will love this one.
